Bondr vs Captira

Captira is one of the most established names in bail software, with a deep, national feature set. Bondr is a newer, Florida-first system built around one idea: stop forfeitures before they cost you. Both are good tools. They're built for different priorities, and this page lays out the real differences so you can pick the right one.

The real differences

Where the two really differ.

Pricing shape

Captira's base price is lower, but several features bill by usage: text messages, Defendant Watch (a monthly fee plus a per-defendant charge), online payment tools, per-payment fees, and a card percentage. Depending on your volume, the real monthly bill can land well above the sticker. Bondr is one flat price per writer with no per-text, per-payment, or per-defendant fees. If your volume is high or spiky, flat pricing is easier to predict. If your volume is low, Captira's base can be cheaper.

Radar

Most tools, Captira included, give you court-date reminders and alerts. Bondr adds Radar, a ranked action center that puts the bonds most likely to cost you at the top of the list every morning. Radar is not AI and it does not predict anything. It's a rules-based ranking of your own data (how much money is on the line, how much premium is still owed, and who you've flagged to watch), and it shows the exact reason behind every score.

Your money, your Stripe

When you collect premium in Bondr, it goes straight into your own Stripe account. Bondr never holds your funds and never sits between you and your money, so you keep your own processor and rates. Captira handles payments on its own platform.

Where Captira fits best

If you need remote e-signature, automated GPS check-ins, and national re-arrest monitoring today, Captira has all three and Bondr does not yet. If you operate across many states, Captira's national footprint is a real advantage.

Where Bondr fits best

If you're a Florida agency that wants forfeiture prevention front and center, flat and predictable pricing with no metering, jail lookup built for Florida counties, and premium collected into your own Stripe account, Bondr is built for exactly that.
